Center for Administrative Law And Public Procurement Studies

Cambodia - Guangxi - Laos - Myanmar - Thailand - Vietnam - Yunnan

Pursuant to a Memorandum of Understanding between CMLC’s primary academic partner, the Faculty of Integrated Social Sciences, Khon Kaen University, Nongkhai Campus, and the Law Department of Yadanabon University, Mandalay, Myanmar, the two law schools will be establishing a Center for Administrative Law and Public Procurement Studies.  CMLC was instrumental in bringing these two faculties together for this important initiative.

Administrative and public procurement law are woefully underdeveloped in Myanmar.  The Center for Administrative Law and Public Procurement Studies intends to change this through cultivating local experts, reaching out to government on reforms, and engaging in important research studies that promote better understanding of public law, as regards both study and practice. CMLC is providing the seed money to establish the Center and start key activities.  This includes scholarship support for two Yadanabon University law students to pursue an LL.M. Degree in Research focused on modern administrative law and its application in Myanmar. See Scholarship Support for Students.

The Faculty of Integrated Social Sciences at Khon Kaen University, Nongkhai Campus and the Law Department, Yadanabon University are both members of the Mekong Region Law School Consortium.

Please help us bring this opportunity to as many GMS students as possible
